CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH RICH AFRICAN CULTURE(MISSBEIDA FASHION)

Hello lovelies, guess who is back on the blog? It’s so good to be back here with you, and I must confess, I missed this so much. I took a break after the Christmas celebration to work on some pressing projects. Wow! It is so great to be back with you. How have you been? I hope you all are doing great.

As you may already know, February is Black History Month (BHM), and this observance was originally intended as a period dedicated to educating everyone about Blacks; their accomplishments, strong family values, work ethic, and of course, the amazing trajectory of our African ancestors. BHM is contentious, as there are those who feel it should be abolished because the celebration is racist, and others who say it is a form of relegation when the celebration of a race’s history is confined to just one month, as opposed to integrating it into mainstream education for the entire year… Be that as it may, our history is currently being celebrated, and in the spirit of this celebration, I bring you a popular African fabric from our cultural heritage – Ankara.

It’s no news that the western world has embraced African fabric like Ankara with so much passion, rather the good news here is that we are going to be showcasing some of our new trends, styles and designs with Ankara fabric. Why do I love this fabric? It gives me the opportunity to embrace my root with passion and pride. I call it African power or Girl power. What do you say? I can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Hahaha

Ankara clothing and fabrics are loved by most African women for its versatility. It can be worn on many occasions, such as weddings, birthday parties, most outdoor and indoor events. For those of us that live in the western part of the world, this clothing design can also be worn in winter. I was previously under the impression that it could only be worn in summer, that was until I met my co-stylist. Ladies, it’s my absolute pleasure to introduce you to the lady behind this luxurious design. Please meet Miss Beida.

Miss Beida is a Toronto-based fashion designer. She has an amazing personality, and is deeply passionate about her business and career in the fashion industry. Incidentally, Miss Beida has a soft spot for African fabrics and has since honed her skills in designing Ankara fabrics with style and sophistication. As an African fashion designer, Miss Beida truly embraces her culture and exudes the knowledge by designing luxurious African fabrics for women. Her excellent sense of fashion, especially pertaining to Ankara, delivers bold, colorful patterned designs, which are symbolic of African heritage. So far, I have had an incredible experience working with this great designer.
